We've been working very hard on getting the smoke solver to work well for our needs. Here are some movies made by our program, as of a couple of days ago:

The renderer still kinda stinks, since we haven't spent much time getting the smoke to look pretty yet (we just wanted smoke for now). Our lighting scheme is very rudimentary, but allows us to see some more depth in our smoke. Also, the view can only be from the front on the current version of our smoke program, which we expect to fix by next project update.

Much of what we're trying to do right now is come up with the parameters necessary to make our effect really look like smoke or something similar. Getting that right "formula" is actually really difficult, especially if we change the grid sizes in between shots.

Also, we've been working on getting our smoke to work in our camera-calibrated shots. We hope to show you some footage with smoke in the shot by next project update.

We rewrote our concept for the storyline (it is now a thriller-themed movie trailer: "Smoker").
