Mini-project 1: Virtual Environments
Sponsor: Chris Shaw
The goal is to create a model of a room with furniture and lighting that can be zoomed in and out. Alias/Wavefront and the SVE Toolkit will be used in its creation.
Eventually, the sponsor shifted the focus of the project. The primary task became to create 3D models of domestic furniture. The models will be used in future domestic-based virtual environments. In the end, fifteen pieces of furniture were created using 3D Studio Max (.max). They were then exported as Wavefront objects (.obj), readable by the Simple Virtual Environment (SVE) toolkit. A simple SVE application was written to demonstrate the models.
